Dominic Thiem (ATP-6) moet forfait geven voor de Miami Open (Verenigde Staten, $ 8 909 960) dat volgende week van start gaat. Hij liep deze week een blessure op tijdens het toernooi van Indian Wells.
In zijn partij tegen Pablo Cuevas (ATP-34) bezeerde Thiem zijn voet en moest opgeven. Hij kneusde hierbij de beenderen in zijn rechtervoet en geeft zo noodgedwongen verstek voor de Miami Open. Eerder gaven Rafael Nadal (ATP-2) en Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (ATP-35) al te kennen dat ze niet zouden spelen in Miami. David Goffin (ATP-7) zal zijn terugkeer maken na een oogblessure.

After suffering a bone bruise on his right foot, @thiemdomi is withdrawing from Miami.
